Resumen:
The Prints of the Pont-Aven School. Manu of the artists represented in this stunning collection are relatively unknown. However, the works of Armand Seguin and the brilliant Paul Serusier, possibly the most talented member of the Pont-Aven group, are eagerly sought after by collectors and museums. Gauguin, who resided in Brittany for a total of seven years, is closely identified with Emile Bernard and the gifted young painter and printmaker Maurice Denis. In time, the Pont-Aven group was enlarged by the additions of Henri Delavallee, Cuno Amiet, Maxime Maufra, Robert Bevan, and Roderic O'Conor, a talented Irish artist. The lithographs and zincographs, as presented in this handsome, beautifully printed book, are a fitting tribute to the Pont-Aven artists and the masterpieces that are their legacy. |
