Nobody Came : When he was just five years old, Robbie Garner and his two brothers Davie, three, and John, eight, were taken from their drunken mother and their suicidal father. They were placed first in the Sacre Coeur orphanage in Jersey where they endured a harsh, merciless regime. Later they were transferred to the notorious Haut de la Garenne. Years of mental and physical abuse followed. At night the boys heard screams and muffled sobs, and witnessed the depraved acts of cruelty inflicted on the vulnerable. Children disappeared and rumors abounded, but nothing changed. With only each other to rely on, it was the strength of the brothers' bond and the unshakable love they had for each other that gave them the will to survive.
