Resumen:

A Whisper to the Living (Inspector Rostnikov) : Inspector Porfiry Petrovich Rostnikov is an imperturbable one-legged policeman and one of the few honest civil servants in a very dishonest post-Soviet Russia. He and his team of like-minded fellow officers are often handed cases that are fraught with political consequences. Such as the case of a serial killer who has claimed at least forty victims, which has Rostnikov relentlessly haunting the Moscow park where the killer hunts. Or the disappearance of an enormously popular heavyweight boxer - and the discovery of the bodies of the boxer's wife and his sparring partner in a hotel room. Rostnikov and his team must also protect a British journalist who is working on a story about a Moscow prostitution ring. This might be the deadliest assignment of all . . . and pursuing justice puts Rostnikov in a difficult political position that could cost him his job.
